Río Tinto - The Kingdom of Colours
When my doctors declared me "cancer-free" by the end of July I contacted Juan Tapia right away to finally arrange our "work-week" in Minas de Riotinto which we had planned for a long time. Juan had agreed to be my mentor for my personal photo project and I was so happy to finally get going in September...
With temperatures between 20 - 40 (!) degrees we spent 6 days roaming the acid rivers Río Tinto and Tintillo from 7 - 22 always - of course - in rubber boots. We hiked up and down the steep canyons, climbed along the rocky shores of the rivers, waded through the yellow slippery mud, took photos until our SD cards were glowing, discussed photo topics until my head was throbbing and absolutely everything was "Greek to me" while having a lot of fun and suffering from heat and exhaustion simultaneously always according to the motto "hay que sufrir" - for a good picture you have to suffer 😅. We had an incredibly creative productive and inspiring time - thank you so much, Juan, for this absolutely fantastic week, for your never ending patience, inspiration, dedication and professional support - it was THE highlight of this difficult year for me!!
And here are the results - a new division into Industrial and Natural Landscapes and so far 25 partly new categories with some of which I´m quite happy, others still need another trip to Spain.
